III Ukrainian essay competition in international commercial arbitration
On March 29, 2016 in the premises of Avellum law firm took place the awarding ceremony of the winners and finalists of the III Ukrainian essay competition in international commercial arbitration, which was jointly organized by the Ukrainian Arbitration Association and Ukrainian Bar Association Students' League.
By decision of the Contest Committee the prizewinners are:
Maliuta Pavlo, 3rd year student at National University of “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” – I prize;
Koch Olena, 5th year student at Odessa I.I. Mechnikov National University and Rekun Anton, 4th year student at Donetsk National University - II prize;
Zaliznyak Kateryna, 4th year student at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, IIR- III prize;
The ceremony started with congratulations made by Contest Committee, in particular, Yaroslav Petrov, Counsel at Asters law firm, the UAA Secretary General and the UAA Board Member and Olena Perepelynska, Partner at Integrites law firm, the UAA Board Member. It is worth mentioning that Contest Committee members included also Markian Malskyy, Partner at Arzinger law firm, and Markian Kliuchkovskyi, Partner at Egorov, Puginsky, Afanasiev&Partners. After the congratulatory speech, the Contest Committee members emphasized the importance of young law student’s education and positively noted the student’s interest in development of international commercial arbitration. During the contest, committee members commented on essays and emphasized the importance of correct approach to producing such writings, by their words and experience motivating the future lawyers for new achievements.
Dmytro Marchukov, Partner, The Head of dispute resolution practice at Avellum law firm, and Serhii Uvarov, Senior Associate at Avellum law firm, also attended the awarding ceremony.
Contest winners received financial rewards and the opportunity to undertake internship at the leading law firms.
