The Finland Arbitration Institute's 115th Anniversary Conference

The Ukrainian Arbitration Association is delighted to support the Finland Arbitration Institute's 115th Anniversary Conference, taking place in Helsinki on 21 August 2026.

Founded in 1911, FAI is one of the oldest continuously operating arbitration institutions in the world and the oldest in the Nordic region. This August, FAI marks 115 years with a conference exploring how international commercial arbitration operates when the rules-based order is under strain, from contract drafting and risk allocation through arbitral proceedings to the recognition and enforcement of awards.

The day opens with the Helsinki Lecture 2026 by Gary Born, followed by three panel discussions with speakers including Khawar Qureshi KC, Carolyn Lamm, Elliott Geisinger, and Dr. Olena Perepelynska, drawn from leading practices across Europe, Asia, and North America. The day concludes with a gala dinner at Suomenlinna, a UNESCO World Heritage sea fortress.

The conference can be attended in person in Helsinki or remotely.
