UAA Arbitration Academy
The Ukrainian Arbitration Association is proud to invite Ukrainians to join its Arbitration Academy starting on 19 October 2023.
The ongoing full-scale aggression against Ukraine has prompted us to rethink the structure and ultimate objectives of the course.
The UAA Arbitration Academy now aims to help a wider audience of Ukrainian business people, lawyers and students to enhance their knowledge and skills in international arbitration through practical and interactive lectures and workshops. The goal is to prepare Ukrainians to effectively navigate the growing number of international disputes, including those arising during the war, as well as to negotiate dispute resolution clauses in new cross-border contracts and projects, including for Ukraine’s reconstruction. The UAA Arbitration Academy will be open to all Ukrainian citizens regardless of their place of residence. This course will be free of charge.
The faculty of the UAA Arbitration Academy will include prominent arbitration practitioners and academics from leading international law firms, universities and institutions, providing valuable insights and expertise to the Ukrainian participants.
The course will be taught online in English, divided into two parts:
- Module 1: Basic course – October-December 2023, one 2-hour lecture per week
- Module 2: Specialized course / Master classes – January 2024, two 2-hour lectures per week
Module 1 includes 10 lectures, Module 2 includes up to 7 lectures, according to the following schedule:
Module 1: Thursdays from 17:00 to 19:00 Kyiv time, 19 October – 21 December 2023; and
Module 2: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 17:00 to 19:00 Kyiv time, 09 January – 30 January 2024.
